Even negative feedback can be an opportunity for customer engagement. Plus it also offers you as the brand owner an opportunity to enhance your product or service. When responding to negative feedback always be honest, authentic and respond human-to-human. The worst thing you can do when responding to negative feedback is to try and justify your product or to try to switch topics. For example, if there's a product issue your customer is telling you about, thank them for letting you know vs. blaming it on the manufacturer for producing a defective product. Tell them you plan to use their honest feedback to enhance the product and that you appreciate the fact they took the time to let you know.
